Summer Art Camp 2012

Lead support for DCCA Summer Arts Camps is provided by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.

Summer Arts Camp Scholarships are provided by The United Way of Delaware, Utopia Systems, ING Direct, Karl Grieshaber, Tim Lobach and Watsuki Harrington, Vince Watchorn, Robert Krapf, the DCCA Board of Directors, and additional individual donors. Summer Arts Camp supplies are provided through the generous support of the Wilmington Flower Market.

DCCA Education Programs are made possible, in part, by individual contributions; member support; and by major grants from Bank of America, Borgenicht Foundation, JPMorgan Chase Foundation, DuPont, ING DIRECT, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware in partnership with National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support is provided by the Delaware Humanities Forum, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities; United Way of Delaware; The First State Gridiron Board; The Gilliam Foundation; I Could Do Great Things Foundation; Puffin Foundation; Wilmington Flower Market; The Christmas Shop Foundation; Walmart; and by Amtrak – Official Transportation Provider for the DCCA.

DCCA SUMMER ART CAMP 2012: Imagine, Explore, Create

The DCCA offers six sessions of summer camp for ages 4 – 15. Children will work with professionally trained Teaching Artists and have full access to DCCA galleries. Campers will explore contemporary takes on a number of art themes, including technology, language, and materials.

Campers must bring their own lunch, snacks, and beverages. In addition to regular camp hours (listed below) optional weekly pre-camp (8 – 10 am) and post-camp (4 – 6 pm) sessions are available for an additional fee. On Fridays at 3:30 pm there will be an art exhibition of the campers’ work for friends and family. Scholarships available.

Future Teaching Artists (FTA) Program
Ages 14 - 18

Program Dates: July 9 – August 3, 2012

Application Deadline: May 25

Interested in a career in the arts? Love kids? Let us help you learn about different careers in art education and museums this summer through our Future Teaching Artists (FTA) program.

We’re seeking responsible, eager, and creative teen volunteers ages 16 to 18 to assist in our Summer Arts Camps, shadow museum jobs, and gain valuable career experience. The FTA program is also a great way add valuable community service experience to your national junior honor society, resume, and college applications.

Fee: $100.00 (due upon acceptance to program)
