DCCA SUMMER ART CAMP 2013: Imagine, Explore, Create

  • Six weeks of camp
  • Small class size with a maximum of 15 campers per week

The DCCA offers six sessions of summer camp for ages 4 – 15. Participants will work with professionally trained Teaching Artists and have full access to DCCA galleries. Campers will explore contemporary takes on a number of art themes, including color, performance, and recycled materials.

Campers investigate these themes in an interdisciplinary way by using visual art making, interpretive games, performance art, and physical exploration. Art activities utilize a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, and mixed media. 
Curriculum includes individual projects as well as collaborative art making.
 
In addition to regular camp hours (listed at right) optional weekly pre-camp (8 – 10 am*) and post-camp (4 – 6 pm*) sessions are available for an additional fee. On Fridays at 3:30 pm there will be an art exhibition of the campers’ work for friends and family.

CAMP HOURS
Monday through Friday 10 am – 4 pm.
Optional pre- and post-camp available $50 per program/week*.
*Rates, availability, and times for pre- and post- camp may differ during 1/2 day sessions

Half Day Programs: $130 Members, $160 Non Members

Future Teaching Artists (FTA) Program
Ages 14 - 18

Interested in a career in the arts? Love kids? Let us help you learn about different careers in art education and museums this summer through our Future Teaching Artists (FTA) program. We are seeking responsible, eager, and creative teen volunteers ages 15 to 18 to assist in our Summer Arts Camps, shadow museum jobs, and gain valuable career experience.
