DCCA’s Honorary DCCA 2011 Annual Fund Chairs
Ellen and Carl are longtime supporters of the arts in general and the DCCA in particular. He’s a left-brained lawyer who values the opportunity the arts provide him to use the other side of his brain. She’s been an artist as long as she can remember whose commitment to the DCCA spans 30 years of active engagement. From her childhood days, when playing dress-up got her creative juices flowing, to her first venture into weaving and making her own clothes, to the DCCA show she curated early on, to her entrepreneurial activity running the Blue Streak Gallery, Ellen’s support for and excitement about the arts has been unwavering. She has worked tirelessly as DCCA’s most dedicated “Funraiser,” generously offering her time and creative flair to countless DCCA Fall Fundraiser committees. When asked about the importance of the DCCA and contemporary art to our community, Ellen said, “What the DCCA provides is absolutely essential to society and as important to life as air, food, and light! The DCCA is an exciting and inspiring place, a place you come to feel really good and welcome, and where you can see new things -- leading edge art.” We are honored to announce that Ellen and Carl will serve as Honorary Chairs of DCCA’s 2011 Annual Fund Campaigns.
