SPLASH: An Exploration of Paint
Sunday, March 21, 2010
Noon – 3 pm

Ages 4 and up

Come get your hands messy with a DCCA Teaching Artist as we investigate the wide world of paint! Art activities will include explorations of color, texture and shape. Families are invited to visit the galleries with DCCA docents to compare and contrast the different types of paintings on view. Smocks will be provided!

Art on the Town

Join us for loop night sponsored by the City of Wilmington. Art on the Town is a great way to view exhibitions in our galleries and visit the artist studios during our extended gallery hours. Art on the Town is free and open to the public.

EXPLORING THE “6TH BOROUGH”
A STUDIO DAY IN PHILADELPHIA

Saturday, March 13, 2009 9 am – 5 pm

Join Executive Director Maxine Gaiber and independent curator Andrea Kirsh and explore artist studios in Philadelphia. We’ll start the day visiting the studios of Daniel Heyman and Tim McFarlane in Old City, enjoy a three course lunch at the Plow and Stars, and then travel up to Crane Arts, a four-story former plumbing warehouse, where we’ll visit the studios of Sharka Hyland and Chris Davidson, and then give you some free time to explore the many studios and galleries in this striking example of adaptive reuse.

BERKSHIRES AND HUDSON RIVER VALLEY ART TOUR
MAY 14-16, 2010

DCCA and the Delaware Art Museum invite you to three days and two nights of cultural exploration of the Hudson River Valley and the Berkshires. Guided tours await us at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Storm King Art Center, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, Norman Rockwell Museum, Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio, and Olana.

Highlights include: the Sol LeWitt exhibit at MASS MoCA, rated by Time Magazine as one of the 10 “must see” cultural attractions in 2009; the Clark’s collection of Impressionist paintings– over 35 Renoirs alone; dinner at one of the Culinary Institute of America’s finest restaurants in Hyde Park, NY; accommodations at the historic Village Inn in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Includes:
Two night’s accommodations, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 2 boxed lunches, motor coach transportation throughout the tour, and all admissions.
